Such classic talent she had. No one could hold a candle to her wit, her charm, and her take on life.
She made the mundane the magnificent with only the stroke of her pen.
She brought to life real life in books and on the big screen. We all fell hopelessly in love.

My mom mentions When Harry Met Sally at least once a month and Allie and I share Julia Child quips and quotes from Julie & Julia quite often.

This author has wiggled her way into our hearts. This author is Norah Ephron (1941-2012).

Recently I bought Allie one of her books because I always thought those two took a similar comedic approach to life. I knew Allie would be cheered up just by reading tales of Norah's everyday adventures. From what I hear, Allie's trip to Portland last month was peppered with reading Norah's I Feel Bad About my Neck on every street corner, pedestrian cross-walk until she reached the last page.

Norah's thoughts on hair dye from I Feel Bad About my Neck:
"But then, about a year ago, my colorist gave me several highlights as a present. Highlights, you probably know, are little episodes of blondness that are scattered about your head. They involve peroxide. They extend the length of time involved in hair dying from unbearable to unendurable. As I sat in the chair, waiting for my highlights to sink in, I was bored witless. Hours passed. I couldn't imagine why I had been conned into agreeing to this free trial. I vowed that I would never ever even be tempted to have highlights again, much less pay money for them. (They are, in addition to being time-consuming, wildly expensive. Naturally.)"

Have a laugh from some of her most memorable quotes, and please find all of Norah's best-sellers here - I know you'll want to snag a few.
