Let's face it. We spend more time watching reality TV than we do reading, or running, or studying modern architecture, or taking fine art classes... or doing all of those things combined. That's just the truth. Though you may wish, and even pretend, that your days are full of activities that put the Renaissance woman to shame, you probably spent last night watching the Real Housewives reunion special, followed by a rerun (or four) of Jersey Shore.
Wonderlisters, consider this your license to speak up at the water cooler the next time your coworkers ask if you're a fan of trash TV. "No, I usually stick to Lisa Ling documentaries and intellectually driven dramas." We all know that's not true, even when we say it to ourselves.
Sometimes long days require a comfy house, a bowl of popcorn and the zen-like state that is mindless entertainment. As long as it doesn't take over your life (ahem, Kardashian DVD collection devotees), you can feel good about reveling in the real.

Love it. I actually never lie about watching reality TV... so I'm sure everyone at work thinks I sit around all day catching up on the Kardashians, those crazy Housewives, and the people of Jersey.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess that is the truth.
